A breakfast of thick, buttered toast and smashed, soft avocado. A fried egg, still warm and gooey, topped with sea salt and cracked pepper and toasted black sesame. A pinch of arugula. Fresh thyme. The sharing of last night’s nonsensical dreams.
A dinner of seared pork chops, crushed garlic. Steaming broccolini with long, long green stems. Fresh spinach and heirloom tomatoes drizzled with rich, dark balsamic. Laughter over work stories and texts from friends.
A short walk after the sun has set, your large fingers encasing mine. Venus overhead to the west, large and bright and clear.
The remaining hours spent on a couch littered with oversized cushions. My feet tucked under your thighs, for warmth. For the joy of your skin.
There is love in these simple things. In eating and talking and moving. I would trade nothing for these beautiful mundanities.
My whole heart is yours. I give it freely, over and over. In every small moment of our togetherness.
Happy Valentine’s, my love.
This amigurumi ladybug was made freehand with Sugar ‘n Cream cotton yarn and a US H/5.00mm crochet hook.

All of these stories work wonders for personification! Awesome stuff, both words and threads 😆
